Environmental Connect/Preserve/Restore (CPR) Programme

The Yahweh Foundation children and teenagers have been actively involved in environmental initiatives in Tobago.

  • Plastic Recycling:

The Enviro CPR Programme has become the primary recycling collection centre for Tobago. Since March 2017, over 6,000 bags of recyclable waste plastic bottles and aluminum cans have been sent to Trinidad for recycling.  The programme has stimulated interest among the small businesses and hotel sector in south-west Tobago, adding to the growing collections coming from outside Buccoo. Some of the businesses are actively reducing the amount of plastic waste they generate.  Yahweh Foundation has trained 36 young Stewards of the Environment who continue to develop their leadership skills and transforming their community and personal lives.

  • Environmental Education and Awareness:

The Enviro CPR Programme continues to stimulate national interest through print, television and social media. The Stewards are now regularly invited to public events such as Easter Goat Race Festival and Tobago Jazz Festival. Yahweh Foundation also actively engages in significant environmental  awareness initiatives such as World Environment Day and International Coastal Cleaning Day.

  • Secondary Schools Outreach
Yahweh Foundation has extended its educational awareness initiative to Secondary Schools via face to face and online presentations and continue to maintain connection to youths through their Youth Enviro clubs. These presentations offer a fun and interactive way to highlight our impact on the environment and suggest ways we can make meaningful change.  We have since recorded this presentation to be available for all to see.
